**** I read cité as city, (not residence ... as it is in french) ***

It’s a review that should definitely be read several times. A fairly complex tale told in very simple words. Iulia has written a review that takes us directly on the streets of “the city of joy”. We are all standing on the streets and we can see people sleeping over there; we are talking to the kids, who work at a tea stall rather than going to a school.

And in her writing, I could found the “man horse” who still exists in Kolkata (where the writers ‘the city of joy” exists). I have been to this place several times, and to be honest, almost all the cities offer us a very similar life style! Yes we need to live in dreams  and that’s why we have all these fantasizing story that give us reason to smile.
In fact I fell in love with these words of Iulia
“But the moments in which women put on colored wings and children turn into princes .. these oriental stories matter enormously!!! There are pockets of happiness and gateways in a world of fantasy, the beautiful music and ugly reality blurred colors, and each dream alive with intensity, regardless of the burden of karma”

Without going into the details of the review, I agree, when Iulia who sees Mother Teresa telling that poverty is ONLY about dyeing of hunger, nothing else. And that’s why there has been a suggestion about providing education to all. Fortunately in today’s India, state sponsors free education, but still poverty exists!!!!!

May be now we need to link this with globalization, with the attitude of the youth who want only one kind of job; …multinational, rather than focusing on the need of its society! And hence they fall in the trap,
In Iulia’s word (about today’s market oriented society), “We need the existence of the poor and sick, benchmarks against which we evaluate from time to time”

My personal comment ..what a review!!! Iulia, you deserves a free trip to “the city of hope” ;)
