Cântecul Racing with the Wind a fost compus în urma unei recomandări de carte. Este vorba despre Sadako şi cei o mie de cocori de Eleanor Coerr, o carte care marcat-o profund pe colega mea de serviciu, Lani May Mojica, profesoară de matematică din Filipine. Racing with the Wind este de asemenea titlul ultimului capitol al cărţii. În acest capitol Sadako se stinge din viaţă după o luptă crâncenă cu leucemia, boala provocată de radiaţiile bombei atomice aruncate asupra Hiroshimei la 6 august 1945.
